Mitosis and cytoplasmic division are the procedures of the cycle that happen in the organisms for maturation and development. In the cell cycle, the cell grows and splits through different phases named G1, S, G2 and M.

The cells produced at the end of the cycle have an identical numeral of chromosomes and the same quantity of genetic information.

During the cell cycle parent cell undergoes changes in various phases and prepares for the division. In the interphase of the cycle chromosomal replication occurs while in the mitosis phase the actual division of the parent into two cells occurs.

The parent cell undergoes different steps to divide its nuclear and cytoplasmic content called karyokinesis and cytokinesis respectively.

Therefore, at the end of mitosis and cytokinesis, the cells produced have the identical digit of chromosomes and ploidy.
